Biography

Lana Lanetta was born and grew up in the quaint town of Ogre, Latvia. Coming from a blue-collar family, she marches to the beat of her own drum and has achieved the American dream and beyond. Don’t let her certification in gardening fool you, she is anything but a girly girl and She had no time to try to conform to anyone’s standards, early on she began to shape her own future, working her way up from a street janitor to becoming an adept artist. In her youth she was incredibly active, contributing to her amazing figure that she still maintains today, getting great aerobic workouts from soccer and gymnastics. Extracurricular activities aside, sewing has always been an enduring passion that has stayed near and dear to her heart.  Despite her jaw-dropping beauty she is very unpretentious. Her eyes and smile tell the remarkable tale of her life. She makes all of her clothes and hats by hand; however, they are not mundane pieces, but rather works of art, no two stitches the same. Her works are original, expressive, and breathe life into the world as if they had a soul. She lives her dreams, and no one is going to tell her what she can or cannot do. Her parents in Latvia owned a sewing business since she was a little girl. She could practically sew before she could walk, always trying to mix-match materials and is always creating something new and interesting. Her father is Russian her mother is Latvian, she moved around a lot when she was younger. From the age of 16 until 21 Lana had resided in over 25 different countries, each unique and impressive in their own way.  Language is also another barrier which has not contained her, being fluent in English, Russian, Lativan, and Italian, Lana can communicate and express ideas to a wide audience. When she turned 21 she made what is perhaps the most important decision of her life and moved to America to live the American Dream. America is a land ripe with opportunities, and Lana is the living proof that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. You cannot sit idly by and wait for success to come to you. Her first taste of American culture was Chicago, Illinois. She has been based there for 16 years now, eternally grateful that she followed her instincts and relocated, it served as the beginning of a new and wonderful chapter in her life! In 2005 she graduated from Chicago Independent Film School with 3 diplomas. Her time in her school production class has helped her become efficient with Final Cut Pro, and ProTools. As an artist, Lana can find inspiration in just about any aspect of everyday life. She has always greatly enjoyed working with her hands. Besides sewing, her interests include painting, or building, anything she can do by hands, also ceramics or even macramé, which is very similar to that of knitting.
